The Senior Center @ Charles Houston is operated by ARHA in partnership funded by the City of Alexandria Department of Community & Human Services’ Division of Aging & Adult Services.
The center is located in the Charles Houston Recreation Center and is operated daily by ARHA staff. The center’s participant base is with senior residents of the east side of Alexandria and is inclusive of the Ladrey High Rise and Annie B. Rose House communities.
Program activities offered include exercise, crafts, consumer and wellness education seminars, recreational and leisure opportunities. Transportation to and from the center for those persons residing within the targeted boundary area for the senior center is provided by the Division of Aging & Adult Services Special Transportation Unit.
